In producing biochar, we use the Schottdorf method which is based on an old method, the "Stone Age" approach. In contrast to ancient and traditional charcoal kilns, however, the firing process takes place in silo-shaped, vertical steel kilns.
Carbon Terra is the only manufacturer of biochar that can produce in industrial quantities and especially works on biomasses that have been, until present, considered as waste matter.
Our production processes are subject to a process of quality assurance similar to that used in manufacturing medicines, with individual batches numbered and offering a completely traceable supply chain - from the provenance of raw materials through to production protocols and analysis of the finished product.
We guarantee that no trees are felled or forests cleared for the purpose of producing biochar. The processes we use offer the maximum yield from plant carbon matter and allows for the complete use of energy contained in pyrolytic gases to produce electricity or heat.
